... State Representative and Candidate Charles VanZant spoke about his work in the legislature on committees and specific bills. He brought up several ideas for future legislation that were enthusiastically discussed and passed out a survey for voters to fill out.
Nick Robinson, MCYR President, announced that the club received the Website of the Year Award at the 2010 Annual Convention of the Florida Federation of Young Republicans held earlier in June. He also read the report of the Nominating Committee and accepted nominations from the floor for MCYR officers for the coming year. |

As the year progresses, we will be focusing more on the upcoming 2010 elections, which will include key positions such as federal representatives, the Florida governor, and county commissioners. Membership drives and fund raisers will be held to gather the resources necessary to serve the candidates with the most time and energy possible. |
