As the year progresses, we will be focusing more on the upcoming 2010 elections, which will include key positions such as federal representatives, the Florida governor, and county commissioners. Membership drives and fund raisers will be held to gather the resources necessary to serve the candidates with the most time and energy possible.

At the January meeting, we were pleased to meet and ask questions of Kathy Bryant, candidate for County Commission District 2. The week before, we gathered to clean our adopted roadway, an event which turned out to be of historic importance: it was the first, and possibly last, time that the Young Republicans of Marion County, Florida, ever removed litter that was covered with snow.
